Il Museo Archeologico della Città  conserva le più antiche testimonianze della presenza dell’uomo nel territorio, dal periodo proto-storico, all’epoca nuragica, al periodo fenicio e romano. Un percorso espositivo che si articola intorno a tre temi particolarmente significativi per Alghero ed il suo territorio: il mare, i modi dell’abitare, il mondo del sacro. Il museo sorge su via Carlo Alberto, nel cuore della città antica. È ospitato in un edificio recentemente ristrutturato, un tempo sede di un complesso monastico annesso alla Chiesa di San Michele.
